Learn More About Volunteering with Boston CASA

Boston Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) recruits, trains, and supports volunteers who advocate for children and youth in the child welfare system in Middlesex and Suffolk counties. Volunteers are matched with one child or sibling group and serve as a consistent presence, advocating for their best interests in court, collaborating with caregivers and service providers, and helping ensure their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met. The ultimate goal is permanency: a safe and stable home, or for older youth, a successful transition to independent adulthood.

Boston CASA hosts monthly virtual information sessions for those interested in volunteering.

Upcoming dates and registration are available here. The next training begins in September, with limited spots available.

Help Youth Start the School Year Strong with Boston CASA’s Back-to-School Drive

As we head into school season, Boston CASA is launching its back-to-school drive on Amazon! These items will be provided to our CASAs to help support their youth as they start school this fall. In addition to school supplies, they are in need of gift cards so youth and families can purchase the exact materials they need, and to help support CASA visits and celebrate milestones!

When you purchase an item, select Boston CASA as the shipping address (151 Merrimac St, Boston, MA 02114).

If you have any questions about shipping or purchasing through Amazon, please contact Charly at charly@bostoncasa.org.

Board Opportunity: Project Citizenship

Project Citizenship provides free legal services to permanent residents, helping more than 1,100 clients each year with citizenship applications, fee waivers, disability exemptions, and legal representation. With the support of 650+ volunteers and pro bono attorneys, the organization works to increase naturalization rates across New England, focusing on the most vulnerable populations.

They are seeking new board members—particularly those with expertise in communications, IT, legal, marketing, or strategy—who are passionate about social justice, democracy building, and immigrant rights.
