2016 Young Philanthropist Conference
A huge thanks to the 200+ women who attended The Philanthropy Connection’s first Young Philanthropist Conference on April 2, 2016. We were inspired by the panelists and energized by the discussions and the new women we met, all of which deepened our commitment to philanthropy. As we learned at the conference, we are all philanthropists – no matter how we define our personal philanthropic journey. We sincerely thank all conference attendees for caring and being intentional about building your philanthropic muscles.
We heard many profound words from our keynote speakers, Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley (pictured left) and Dr. Makeeba McCreary, and we just want to say #theydidthat. They both set the tone for us to Give.Receive.Learn. during and after the conference. We will all carry with us TPC co-founder Marla Felcher’s challenge: “Be open to big ideas. If you feel it in your gut, go with it, give your big idea a chance.”
The next time you look into the mirror, practice saying, “This is what a philanthropist looks like.” We have every intention of changing the face of philanthropy in this city.
