Help Wanted!

Are you an accounting aficionada or know one who might be interested in a short-term opportunity that will put those skills to the test? TPC needs help migrating its data to QuickBooks Online.

Interested? Please contact Barbara Gaskin.

December 3, 2019.
As Giving Tuesday approaches, we hope you will think about these three things:

  • Donating to TPC;
  • Setting your AmazonSmile account to The Philanthropy Connection; and
  • Turning in your matching gift forms.

Thank you!

Women-led collective giving groups are currently transforming American philanthropy through high-impact grant-making to better serve and suit their communities. In the past 25 years, these collectives have pooled individual assets and funded over $1.3 billion in grants while forging new friendships and stronger relationships between stakeholders and non-profits. Join a discussion about collective giving with Jennifer Angarita of The Philanthropy Connection; Cherie Arruda of Womenade; Kathryn Neilson, PhD. of 100 Women Who Care Boston North; and moderator Cassandra Trujillo of The Philanthropy Connection.

Grantee Impact: Food Link
TPC Liaisons: Maggie Collins and Judy Monaghan McGarvey

Our TPC Liaisons spoke with Food Link’s volunteer extraordinaire Nancy Frost to talk about the work of this Arlington-based grantee. Food Link (FL) collects high-quality fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, bread, and prepared foods that would otherwise be wasted from 24 local grocery and prepared food stores. FL delivers this nutritious food to over 42 social service agencies serving people in need, including after school programs, programs for at-risk youth, low income housing facilities, homeless shelters, food pantries, and senior centers. (Read more…)

Member Impact: Volunteer Days Galore!

We know from talking with our grantees that one of the many things that distinguishes TPC from other funders is our eagerness to pitch in and help by providing volunteers, regardless of the need. We’ve had members join boards; consult on strategic planning and marketing; sort clothing; pretend to be served real food at a banquet… there are too many to list. Below you’ll read about two recent Volunteer Day opportunities and we also invite you to OPT IN if you would like to receive advance notice of future opportunities. If you choose not to opt in, you’ll still receive email announcements about our grantees’ needs. (Read more…)
