Letter from TPC’s Co-Presidents
In times of uncertainty, one thing remains clear—our grantees need us now more than ever. As they continue their critical work serving communities directly impacted by recent events, we stand firmly by them.
At The Philanthropy Connection, we have always believed in the strength of our community. Now is the time to do what we do best—come together to ensure that our grantees have the support they need. There are many ways to take action:
- Strengthen TPC’s impact—Make an additional donation to our grant pool and invite a friend to join, directly strengthening the nonprofits we fund.
- Stay informed—The National Council of Nonprofits offers excellent insights into how recent policies are affecting nonprofits.
- Engage with our current grantees—Attend an education event to learn more about the challenges our grantees are tackling, volunteer, or show up at their upcoming fundraisers.
- Support our past grantees—They continue to do vital work in our communities.
This moment calls for action, and we know this community is ready to step up. Thank you for being part of TPC and ensuring that we continue to make a difference together.
With gratitude,
Jenny Morrison & Valerie Godhwani
Co-Presidents

Philanthropy Dialogue with Communities for Restorative Justice (C4RJ)
Wednesday, March 26 | 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM | Via Zoom
Explore a transformative approach to justice with TPC and our grantee, Communities for Restorative Justice (C4RJ). C4RJ offers an impactful alternative to the justice system that supports individuals, communities, and law enforcement.
Restorative justice seeks to bring together those affected by an offense to collectively address harms, needs, and responsibilities—promoting healing and resolution. As Howard Zehr, PhD, explains:
“Restorative justice is a process to involve, to the extent possible, those who have a stake in an offense and to collectively identify and address harms, needs, and obligations, in order to heal and put things right as possible.”
— The Little Book of Restorative Justice, 2002
Join us to learn more about restorative justice and the C4RJ Circle approach, rooted in Indigenous traditions of addressing wrongdoing.

Join TPC’s 2025 7-Day Equity Challenge!
Mark your calendars! From June 1-7, TPC invites you to participate in our 7-Day Equity Challenge, one of our most popular and well-reviewed educational offerings.
Over half of our members have engaged in this Challenge or its predecessor, the 21-Day Racial Equity Challenge. The content has been updated, making it a valuable experience for new and returning participants.
While real change takes time, this Challenge offers a focused opportunity to learn about yourself, Greater Boston, and the systemic inequities TPC-funded nonprofits work to address. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are core to TPC’s mission, and this is a powerful way to deepen your knowledge before our next grant cycle.
How It Works:
Each morning, you’ll receive an email with that day’s topic. The email features curated materials to read, watch, or listen to—plus actionable steps to help you apply what you learn. Reflection prompts are for your personal use, supporting the long-term integration of equity-focused habits.
Returning participant? We encourage you to revisit and engage with the material in a fresh way!
