TPC Advocacy Task Force
Advocacy is broadly defined as “any action that speaks in favor of or against, recommends, argues for a cause, supports or defends, or pleads on behalf of others.” What is permissible is explained through this “red light, yellow light, green light” approach advanced by Bolder Advocacy.
Through its educational programming and grantmaking as well as promoting volunteer opportunities, TPC has through the years engaged in advocacy. This could be expanded by encouraging individual members to be more actively engaged in a number of ways and/or for TPC as an organization to be more intentional in its advocacy.
The task force has conducted “listening sessions” with a number of members including a group of grantee liaisons. As we continue to explore advocacy and how it may relate to TPC, we welcome additional input from members who would like to learn more or share their thoughts. Please feel free to contact a member of the task force.
