ReNew &
Be New!

May 2016

It’s springtime in Boston, a time of renewal. Daffodils and tulips have pushed their way through the earth, asparagus is plentiful at the market, and the trees are in full bloom. (Aaachooo!) At The Philanthropy Connection (TPC), springtime is, quite literally, a time to renew … your membership!

A lot has happened this year. We’ve carefully grown from 231 to 255 members, and on June 2 we’ll award $250,000 of grants to 10 local organizations. We’ve doubled-down on our commitment to foster the next generation of women philanthropists by offering a special half-price membership for women between the ages of 18 and 35.

Our next year promises to be equally exciting, with new opportunities to give, receive, and learn. We’re adding smaller neighborhood events for members to connect with one another and with TPC’s grantees. And we’re creating work groups and special project teams, to include more members’ expertise and ideas in our planning.

Our model of collective giving is simple: The more women who join us, the more money we have to award as grants. We’d very much like for you to Renew or Be New in TPC’s 2016-2017 giving year.

Welcomes & Goodbyes
Welcome! Who Will Be TPC’s New Grantees?

We’re smack in the middle of voting season. Last week, every one of TPC’s 255 members received a ballot in her Inbox, listing the virtues of 22 of Boston’s most impressive non-profit organizations. Who are these organizations, and how did they make it onto our ballot? READ MORE

Goodbye: Wishing Well

Because every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end, we are preparing to say goodbye to our two-year grantees: Silver Lining Mentoring and Family Nurturing Center. Of course, we wish them well! And even more than that, we wish as many of our members as possible will continue to support them in any way they can. READ MORE
