Member Impact: MA Conference for Women
This year there were 13,000 attendees who heard over 150 speakers, including luminaries such as Malala Yousafzai, Megan Rapinoe, Tara Westover, and Marty Walsh. Bernice Cramer, a TPC member, participated as a panelist for a session called: “Outspoken: Amplify Your Voice,” which offered advice and skills to help women harness and understand their own voices and learn how to use them with confidence.
This is the second year we have had a booth in the exhibit hall, which you can see was jam-packed and well-attended. We participate in this event because it is an opportunity for us to share our story with a broad audience, to recruit new members, and to garner interesting ideas for future programming. This year was no exception, and we are excited that our first Connect the Dots event of 2020 will be attended by some of the women we met at the conference who are interested in learning more about TPC.
Thank you to the 22 members who volunteered to staff our booth over the conference’s 2 days. They were able to tell our story while also getting to know one another better and enjoying what they could of the conference.
Greatest thanks go to Ruth Issacs, our Volunteer Coordinator, for overseeing the volunteer effort, and to Karen Brody, who introduced us to this opportunity and coordinated TPC’s participation with the conference organizers.
