A mother’s love liberates.
– Maya Angelou

This Mother’s Day, consider a gift of a Philanthropy Connection membership for a special woman in your life. Giving, receiving, and learning with your mother, daughter, sister, or niece will help make life a little better for another Boston-area mother and her children. Here are just a few of the many ways our Grantees support moms:

  • Budget Buddies helps mothers transform their lives and the lives of their children by teaching money management skills.
  • Families First’s Power of Parenting program helps moms improve the self-esteem, problem-solving skills, and resilience of their children.
  • Family Nurturing Center teaches mothers how to become more effective nurturers, teachers, and sources of stability for their children – through home visits, parent-child playgroups, and parenting education.

Here’s what mother-daughter team members Sandy and Beth Stonebraker have to say about their TPC memberships:

It’s always important to remember that even when life gets tough, there is someone else out there who has had it much harder and who needs help. Pursuing philanthropy with my mom through TPC has connected me with other amazing women who want to make a difference in this world. – Sandy

The Jewish concept of tzedakah, charitable giving, has always been an important part of our family life. TPC is an amazing opportunity not only to give back, but also to learn together how to be better philanthropists. – Beth
