THE PHILANTHROPY CONNECTION AWARDS $250,000 TO TEN GREATER BOSTON NONPROFITS ADVANCING JUSTICE, OPPORTUNITY, AND BELONGING
Funding supports organizations expanding access to justice, strengthening families, and helping individuals build more secure futures.
Cambridge, MA, June 10, 2026 — The Philanthropy Connection (TPC) is proud to announce its 2026 grant recipients, providing $25,000 grants to ten Greater Boston nonprofits that are addressing some of the region’s most pressing challenges and expanding opportunity across our communities.
This year’s grantees were selected for their demonstrated impact, strong leadership, and commitment to serving vulnerable and underserved populations. Together, the organizations represent three critical areas of community need: immigrant and refugee justice, youth and family well-being, and recovery and economic mobility.
“Through the power of collective giving, TPC members invest in organizations that are transforming lives and strengthening communities every day,” said Val Godhwani, Co-President of The Philanthropy Connection. “These ten nonprofits are advancing justice, expanding opportunity, and helping create a stronger, more inclusive Greater Boston.”
Co-President Jenny Morrison underscored the importance of standing with community organizations during a challenging time: “At a moment when many nonprofits are facing growing demand and increasing uncertainty, unrestricted funding sends a clear message: we trust our grantees and believe in their leadership. These organizations are advancing justice, opportunity, and belonging every day, and we are proud to stand alongside them as partners in that work.”
Advancing Immigrant and Refugee Justice
Three grantees are dedicated to supporting immigrants and refugees through legal advocacy, education, and direct services:
- Mabel Center for Immigrant Justice
- Merrimack Valley Immigrant and Education Center
- Student Clinic for Immigrant Justice
These organizations help individuals and families navigate complex legal systems, access essential resources, and build secure futures in their communities.
Strengthening Youth, Families, and Communities
TPC is also supporting organizations that help young people and families thrive through advocacy, mentorship, health services, and violence prevention:
Their work promotes safety, stability, and opportunity for children, youth, and families while addressing systemic barriers that impact long-term well-being.
Expanding Recovery, Stability, and Economic Mobility
Three organizations are focused on helping individuals rebuild their lives and achieve greater independence:
Through housing, support services, and access to reliable transportation, these nonprofits help individuals overcome significant challenges and move toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
The 2026 grant recipients reflect The Philanthropy Connection’s ongoing commitment to investing in innovative nonprofit organizations that deliver measurable impact and strengthen communities across Greater Boston.
And this year for the first time ever, TPC granted a $1,000 Finalist Award to the five additional nonprofit organizations that made it to our final ballot. Reaching the final ballot is no small accomplishment. These nonprofits advanced through a thoughtful, member-driven review process and represent an organization that is making a meaningful difference in our community. Finalists include RIA, Inc., Waltham Partnership for Youth, Inc., The Black Response, Lucy’s Love Bus, and Somerville Community Land Trust
Grantees were honored at TPC’s annual Grant Awards Ceremony on June 9, 2026, at The Row Hotel in Somerville, MA. The event brought together community leaders, TPC member philanthropists, and nonprofit changemakers to celebrate the collective impact of women-led giving.
